I am convinced that, if I can learn French, I can do anything. French people make statements into questions with inflection alone and don't pronounce consonants at the end of words except for C, R, F, and L and insist upon spelling words with accents that do not change pronunciation. If I can learn French, I can learn Arabic, even though that entails learning an entirely different writing system in addition to learning the language. At least the French alphabet is identical to the English one.
(Observation: languages seem to insist on assigning strange terms to the letter "y". For example, y in German is "upsilon," which is very Greek and nothing like any other German letter. Similarly, the French y is "eegrehk," which sounds like a Sherpa chasing a mountain goat.)

Silly inflected languages.
Also, yes to the y thing. It's "i griega" in Spanish, which you may already have known, but I insist upon imparting my knowledge to you anyway.
