I refuse to be afraid of death or disappointment, pain or punishment, loss or loneliness. I do not fear that which I cannot avoid.
I refuse to be afraid of ghosts, or vampires, or superstitions, or trust. I do not fear that which does not exist.
I refuse to be afraid of failure, for I shall not fail.
I refuse to be afraid of love.
I refuse to be afraid of you and all that you stand for.
And I mean that.
(I'm not even afraid of drowning, so long as I can drown in you.
I still shy away from the water, though.)
