Eric Clapton said that the great irony of his life was that as soon as he got something he wanted, he didn't want it anymore. I find that, for the most part, he's right, though it doesn't say much when the exceptions to the rule are songs you download illegally and listen to on repeat.
If nothing else, that proves one piece of conventional wisdom.
