I miss econ.

I know, I know: I am the most indecisive, wishy-washy person ever. But you try teaching yourself the equivalent of a year of French in ten weeks and see how long your drive lasts.

I love the language, and I love how quickly my reading comprehension is improving. Mon écrire est médiocre. My spoken French is abysmal, but for now that's okay. It just seems that I've forgotten how difficult it is to learn a new language and to discipline yourself to do so day in and day out when you realize that, no matter how much you study, your brain cannot process roughly 1000 vocabulary words in ten weeks.

I think of econ and nothing good comes to mind. Then I listen to the debate over raising the debt ceiling, and I think: man, this country needs more people who understand economics.
