You are in college to get an education. If that is not your primary reason for being here, you need to leave.
We were created as an organization of wonderfully intelligent, hard-working women. And no, intelligence doesn't necessarily correlate with a high GPA, but I'd like to think hard work does.
Lowering our GPA threshold would be the lowest blow we could deal ourselves. It would be a complete departure from everything we stood for (and it hurts me so much to put that in the past tense).
It would be the final seal on what is already becoming a very unattractive re-branding. Poor grammar, unwavering pigheadedness, and low standards are not appealing to any woman, whether outside of or (I'd like to think) inside of our organization.
I do not want to have to tell our alumnae (and it would fall to me) that the organization into which they poured uncountable hours of work is now unrecognizable.
