I haven't been making much sense lately.

He said, "I still care." Or perhaps I imagined it, forced the words out of his lips in my mind. In reality, they remained trapped in his eyes.

He did always have pretty eyes.

He said, "Hi sweetheart."

He said, "I am trying so, so hard." Not explicitly, no. But he is not difficult to read.
