I do not believe in word limits.

So I'm writing a paper on this absolutely beautiful story. It's called "A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings", and it's by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's only about six pages long, but there are so much in those six pages that you could write a book on it.

And, well, apparently my subconscious is trying.

I'm about two-thirds of the way done, and my paper is 800 words long.

The maximum is 750.

Well, crap.

.

This seems to be a recurring problem.

.

Why should my thoughts be limited?

Why should I force such a myriad of ideas into one compact little space?

.

If there's one thing I've learned lately, it's that there are some things you just can't quantify.

you know, i completely agree! i had an epic story i had to write for english last year and of course, being the story-teller that i am, i wrote a good 14 pages..........we were only supposed to write 3 at the most. why can't we be free to express ourselves without being limited to the quantity of our writing?
