Well, almost.
CexCells officially does not come out until Tuesday.
But...it leaked.
And I found it.
Honestly, I still plan on buying it to get bonus tracks (haven't decided if I'm going to go to Best Buy or Hot Topic yet), but I was sick and tired of opening up their MySpace page whenever I wanted to have a listen.
It is a beautiful piece of work. I adore it. My favorite track is "Snuff on Digital".
Other things I recently picked up:
The Caesars: 39 Minutes of Bliss (In An Otherwise Meaningless World) I'd been looking for this forever, and I finally found it. Underrated band with a great, addictive sound. It's not bright, so to say, and it's got a heavy foundation in indie rock, but it's still upbeat enough to be called dance.
Emery: The Question I predicted earlier that Emery's The Weak's End would grow on me, and indeed it has. The Question is not quite as dark, and I don't like it as much. But I'm still enjoying it. I can't put my finger on what makes Emery stand out. But the "it" factor's there.
Gregory and the Hawk: Boats and Birds EP A one man (woman) act, Gregory and the Hawk is the most delightful thing to come out of the indie boiling pot in years. It's intriguing, haunting, and light...perfect for a late night drive or a quick, acoustic daydream. Meredith, you're my favorite.
Silversun Pickups: Pikul EP Similar to the Smashing Pumpkins but considerably lighter, Silversun Pickups is a refreshing listen and satisfied me while the Pumpkins were getting their act together. And I'm still listening. They're playing a show in a few weeks, but it sold out before I could get tickets. =(
